The Texas 4-Step Model: Considering Assistive Technology in the IEP Process

Purpose:
Considering AT in the IEP Process provides training materials to support campus-based IEP teams in making informed AT decisions.
Description: Considering AT in the IEP Process
  • Provides an introduction to the AT consideration process that must occur for all students with disabilities in accordance with IDEA 1997
  • Can be used by staff developers and educators to train those involved in the development of IEPs - teachers, parents, related services providers, administrators and, when appropriate, students - how to consider possible assistive technology needs during the development of the IEP
  • Includes a downloadable set of presentation documents, participant documents and a supplementary video that may be ordered

Objectives:
